Childcare is available on Sunday mornings for children preschool age or younger. “KIDCITY”, our Sunday school program for children who are of school age, is offered during service.
+ In the childcare space we are working hard to love on the infants and engage the toddlers. It’s important to us that our volunteers are safe; anyone who works with the kids at Sanctuary goes through a background check. We are also developing times of training with our volunteers so that as a team we can make the most of the time we see your kids each week.
+ For kids who are of school age, we invite them to participate in the opening time of worship at the of beginning of church before heading back to the kids space for a lesson and activity. We do this because we believe that time of music, prayer, and reading can serve as a unique opportunity for the kids to engage with the rest of the community.
During the teaching and closing music time the kids will be learning about Jesus through Bible stories, prayer, art projects, and discussion led by our kids ministry team. Feel free to email us for more information about our curriculum. firstname.lastname@example.org
For families who choose to keep their kids in the service with them through the whole service we have activity packs at the back bar that you are welcome to pick up right before the teaching time starts.
As our children’s population grows, we are looking forward to more creative programming. We are planning to pull the youth at least once a month for a kids’ lesson during Pastor Andrew’s teaching time. We are also planning weekend gatherings as a way for kids, families, and the volunteers to connect.
Most importantly, know that the heartbeat of this church is to embrace the young people who walk through this door. We love the vibrancy, the noise, the hope and the passion children bring to a body of believers. We want the children to be “seen and heard” here. Our deepest desire is that Sanctuary would be a home for people from all walks of life and all ages; we want the children to feel as loved, accepted, involved, known, as anyone else who walks through our doors. This is the way Jesus said it should be.
